In 1993 the Zippo Manufacturing Company joined with Watkins Glen International as title sponsor
of the inaugural Zippo U.S. Vintage Grand Prix, one of the most significant vintage events held in the USA.
The weekends have the Zippo Car as the honorary pace car, classic cars on exhibit at the Antique Auto Show,
a recreation of the original Grand Prix race through the village and artwork by renowned motorsport artists.

Zippo Extends NASCAR Sponsorship

March 1, 2014 - Zippo has signed a multi-year renewal, extending sponsorship of the Zippo 200 at The Glen NASCAR Nationwide Series race through 2016. Now in its tenth year, the Zippo 200 is the third longest running Nationwide Series race under the same name and sponsorship.

“From the beginning, our partnership with Watkins Glen International has been a great fit for both of us,” commended Greg Booth, Zippo president and CEO. “Racing fans, especially NASCAR fans, have the same loyalty and passion for their sport as Zippo lighter fans have for our product. Our Zippo Outdoor products make even more sense as we reach out to thousands of avid fans who pack the campgrounds during the race weekend at the Glen.” The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend at The Glen is August 7 - 10.

Zippo Manufacturing Company sponsored Kyle Busch in the D’Hondt Motorsports #92 Zippo BLU car at the Zippo 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race August 9 at Watkins Glen International.

As primary sponsor, Zippo built on the excitement created by Busch and the #92 NASCAR Nationwide Series Toyota Camry to promote their new premium refillable butane pocket lighter, Zippo BLU^TM. It has been five short years since Zippo began racing down the back stretch and winding through the inner loop during the Zippo 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Watkins Glen International.
2009 will mark the fifth anniversary of the Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen. Zippo has revamped theZippo 200 logo Zippo 200 logo, for this year only, to commemorate the Five Year milestone.
Zippo has committed to continue the Nationwide series race sponsorship through 2010.
Some of NASCAR racing’s top names have reached Gatorade Victory Lane following the Zippo 200; Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch, Kevin Harvick, and Marcos Ambrose.
The Zippo 200 has also had a notable list of Grand Marshals, including Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, Miss America 2006 Jennifer Berry, Zippo President and CEO Greg Booth, and Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett.Last year, in addition to title sponsorship of the Nationwide series race, Zippo also sponsored the D’Hondt Motorsports #92 Zippo BLU™ car driven by Kyle Busch.
